Some Lesser Known Facts About Arif Zakaria
Arif was born in a Konkani Muslim family.
He is the cousin of well-known Indian-American journalist ‘Fareed Zakaria’ and brother of Indian politician ‘Asif Zakaria’ who is the member of Indian National Congress.
His uncle ‘Rafiq Zakaria’ was also the member of Congress party and served as deputy to the Congress leader ‘Indira Gandhi.’
He started working as a theatre artist when he was in college and did more than 700 shows all over the world.
He was also the part of the popular Australian musical ‘The Merchants of Bollywood’ that is based on the story of Indian choreographer ‘Vaibhavi Merchant‘ and her grandfather ‘B. Hiralal.’
Arif Zakaria got his first break in 1987 in the TV serial ‘Chunauti’ that aired on DD National.
He also acted in some short films like ‘Tryst with Destiny’ (English, 2007), ‘Aamad’ (Hindi, 2017), etc.
