Reema died of a ‘cardiac arrest’ in Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai on 18 May 2017, at around 3.15 am.

Her age at the time of death was 58 Years

One day before that she had been shooting for the TV series Naamkarann till 7 p.m.

Many personalities from the film industry like actor Aamir Khan,Kiran Rao, directors Mahesh Manjrekar and Mahesh Bhatt came to pay their last respects at Reem’s funeral.

As Mrunmayee is her only child, she performed her funeral in Oshiwara crematorium, in Mumbai.

Reema was born on 21 June 1958 in Mumbai to Marathi theatre actress Mandakini Bhadbhade.

She did her schooling form Huzurpaga HHCP High School in Pune where she was into dramatics.

She got professionally trained in the art after she completes her high school. She appeared as a child artist in 9 films.

Before coming to the entertainment industry Reema was employed with the Union Bank of India for ten years in Mumbai.

While working in Bank she participated in many inter-bank cultural events. She met her husband Vivek Lagoo in November 1976 during cultural events as they both used to work in the same Bank.

She made her Bollywood debut with Shyam Benegal directed movie ‘Kalyug’ in 1981. In this movie Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar appeared as a child artist. This movie is known as a modern day version of the Indian epic Mahabharat.
